My most desired feature in RapidWeaver?

I get asked this a lot. If you could have any one feature in RapidWeaver, what would it be? I used to have one long standing answer; dependencies in theme development. That was really what I felt RapidWeaver needed for the longest time because there are just some things that could not be overcome with adding more and more css sheets. Things like having sexy graphic layouts, with variable sidebar options, with background color options, with page color options... there is just no way without being able to make RapidWeaver understand if and then at the theme level. Can RapidWeaver be used by professionals?

The quick answer is yes/no... that doesn’t help does it. Yes there is no reason why RapidWeaver can’t be used by professional web designers for some things, but one tool won’t always fit the bill for every situation. It really depends on what your needs are. To be honest, RapidWeaver, now at version 4, is a powerful enough tool to be used extensively by any professional and there are many situations where I might find myself using it. Read More...

More on multiple CSS classes

Recently (and I mean more recently than the date of this fake plog post would lead you to believe), Ben Counsell of Realmac Software wrote a post on using multiple css classes on a single HTML element. He hits on a few good points, but as for myself, dealing with the sea of id’s and classes that we have to work with in RapidWeaver theme development Read More...

Pro themes VS Designer themes

themeicon_bunch
So what’s the difference between our Pro themes vs. our Designer themes? I will tell you. Our Pro themes take a very long time to make. They are constructed with versatility in mind. They are built for everyone so that anyone can do just about anything with them. They are flexible with many options to change nearly every aspect of the layout. We put thought and effort into additional theme styles. We spend a great deal of time showcasing them in their previews, showing off all their versatility. We put a ton of work into them.

Our designer themes are made to please us and us alone. They are the themes that we want to make because they are designs that peaked our interest. We are not concerned about making them look good in every situation, we just want them to look awesome in one situation. Designer themes are not flexible, they don’t have many options, they don’t take us very long to make, we don’t make any theme styles for them and we only showcase them with one look. We just want one hot look for one hot theme. Designer themes are the cream of the crop in our eyes, just the way we made them.

Doesn't just taste like facon

It doesn’t just taste like facon, it IS facon. And to be totally sure, we are going to prove it with a quote:

All the facon in the world won’t save this blog post. He’s done like dinner, fried like an egg, tastin’ like facon. Mmm, mmm, good! Can’t get enough of that facon.

Can you believe it, the rambling words are as clear as mud. This really is facon.

The Second Fake Post

Making fake blog posts can be hard to do when you make the decision to not use Lorem Ipsum. Lorem Ipsum comes in handy when you need to fill some space but to be honest, it gets a little tiresome to look at time and time again. So you are probably wondering what the camera and flash have to do with this? Nothing. I just happen to be a professional photographer and I just happen to shoot on the Sony system (was an old Minolta guy from way back, I just carried on with it when Sony took over).

I also need an excuse to test various RapidWeaver features and this picture was on my desktop, so in it went. Ok, enough is enough, it’s time to write the next fake plog post.
